Cobb Speech and Language is really an amazing place! We have had 3 therapists there treating my daughter with special needs for the past couple of years. We have speech, feeding and OT. Their facilities are always nice, and the staff is more than welcoming. You know your child is loved and cared for when you can break bread with your therapists. The owner is a hard worker and cares about her staff, and you can tell by their attitudes and quality of work. My daughter has a very unfortunate rare disease; we have had moments of what is next and tears. They cater to our situation each and every day. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone and do---I even asked the owner if I could wear her business tshirts! Anything to plug for good people serving well to our community and advocating for children in need. - Elyse B

Isaiah, our 5-year-old son with level 3 autism has been in speech therapy with Cobb Speech for two transformative years. When Isaiah began this journey, he could only communicate through hand-over-hand guidance, which led to significant frustration for both him and us as parents. The inability to express himself left him feeling trapped, and frustration for him and us as parents.
In addition to speech therapy, he also receives OT. He has gained more independence than ever before, learning essential life skills that are crucial with level 3 autism. The combination of these therapies has provided him with a well-rounded support system that addresses his unique needs.
Thank you, Cobb Speech, for giving our son the ability to communicate, thrive, and develop the independence he deserves.

Our clinic accepts a wide range of insurance plans to help make speech and occupational therapy accessible for the families we serve. We work with many major providers, including both private insurance plans and Medicaid-based programs, and we are happy to verify your benefits prior to your first appointment. SPEECH & LANGUAGE EVALUATIONS
Comprehensive Evaluations & Area Specific Evaluations
A pediatric speech evaluation is a structured, play‑based assessment that helps determine how a child understands and uses language, produces speech sounds, and communicates with others in daily life. During the evaluation, a speech‑language pathologist observes the child’s interactions, asks questions, and uses standardized tools to measure skills like vocabulary, grammar, articulation, social communication, and sometimes feeding or oral‑motor abilities. The goal is to build a clear picture of the child’s strengths and challenges so families can understand what supports—if any—will help their child communicate more confidently and effectively.

SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPY
Serving Ages: Birth to Young Adults
A pediatric speech therapy session is a focused, play‑based meeting between a child and a licensed speech‑language pathologist designed to support communication skills in a warm, engaging way. During the session, the therapist observes how the child understands and uses language, then guides them through activities tailored to their needs—anything from practicing sounds and building vocabulary to strengthening social communication or feeding skills. It often looks like structured play, but every game, toy, and interaction is chosen with purpose, helping the child develop clearer speech, stronger language abilities, and more confidence communicating in daily life.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Evaluations and Treatment
A pediatric occupational therapy evaluation is a structured but kid‑friendly process where the therapist gets to know a child’s strengths, challenges, and daily routines. It often begins with a conversation with caregivers about developmental history, concerns, and goals, followed by observations of how the child moves, plays, handles objects, communicates, and manages tasks like dressing or feeding. Standardized assessments or playful activities may be used to understand fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and self‑regulation. A typical therapy session builds on what was learned in the evaluation and feels a lot like purposeful play: the therapist guides the child through activities designed to build specific skills—such as grasping, balance, attention, or emotional regulation—while keeping the experience engaging and supportive. Sessions usually end with a brief check‑in with caregivers to share progress and strategies that can be used at home, creating a collaborative path toward greater independence and confidence.
